The $1 million gift will go toward completing renovations to The Pinnacle, a state-of-the-art facility in downtown Wichita that will provide comprehensive health and wellness services.
Koch and the Chase Koch Foundation have donated a total of $1 million to the Wichita Metro Crime Commission to help complete renovations to The Pinnacle Health and Wellness Center for First Responders. The Pinnacle provides comprehensive wellness programs to address both the physical and mental health of first responders, who often experience traumas that most people don’t.
The donations are in addition to the $750,000 the project received in May from Unlikely Collaborators, the nonprofit led by Elizabeth R. Koch, daughter of Charles Koch.
“Wichita has always been home, and I care deeply about its future and the people who make the community such a special place,” said Chase Koch, Koch vice president of originations and partnerships. “Our first responders dedicate themselves to serving others, often on the hardest days of people’s lives. Supporting The Pinnacle is one way we can show our gratitude by investing in their health and well-being.”
“Our first responders serve our community during its most difficult moments, and The Pinnacle will help ensure those responders are at their physical and mental best when those moments come,” said Jim Hannan, president and chief operating officer of Koch. “We are proud to partner with Chase and his foundation in supporting this project, which will continue to improve our city and its public resources.
The more than 26,000-square-foot facility will be located at 350 N. Broadway in downtown and is expected to open in spring 2027.
“The generous donations from Koch, the Chase Koch Foundation and Unlikely Collaborators mean that more than 2,000 first responders in Sedgwick County will have comprehensive wellness programs that address both their physical and mental health,” said Crime Commission Board Chair Alan Banta.
