Application timeline and process:
Koch offers an annual open-solicitation period. Eligible charitable organizations should apply prior to September 15 for funding consideration for the following calendar year.
To apply for grant funding:
- Organizations should be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) charitable organization, accredited school or government subdivision supporting a community in proximity to a Koch company location.
- The organization must not be seeking support for any of the below:
- Individual support (for-profit business start-up, personal need, tuition support)
- Support for a political cause, candidate, legislative lobbying or advocacy effort
- A church, religious denomination or religious/theological school
- A social, alumni or fraternal organization serving a limited constituency
- Chronic disease or end-of-life care
- Animal-related programs
Philanthropic focus areas:
Proposals for funding will be considered should the program, event or campaign make a significant and innovative impact in one of the below areas:
- Education
- Youth Development
- Workforce Development
- Entrepreneurship
- Community Development and Engagement
- Environment and Public Safety
Available grant funds will be awarded based on proposals that align within the above priorities. Effective applications should consider:
- What programs does your organization currently offer? Provide additional detail on the program related to the request for support.
- Who is the target population?
- How is the program/event meeting a key community need? Is the approach unique and innovative?
- How do you define success? What are your key indicators of progress?
- Does your program or organization collaborate with other institutions?
